Tripartite MoU signed to set up New training Centre in Islamabad to boost education and employment.
A recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by three parties to establish a cutting-edge training center in Islamabad. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities and bolster employment prospects in the region.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Pakistan, alongside the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, has entered into an MOU aimed at establishing a new IT Training center in Islamabad catering to unemployed youth. This MOU outlines a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Federal Education, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), and GIKI.
The Ministry of Federal Education and GIK Institute have forged an MOU to establish an IT Training Center in Islamabad, targeting unemployed youth—a significant stride in our dedication to quality education for this demographic, as remarked by Senator Engr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President SOPREST and BoG GIK Institute.
Under the Prime Minister’s Educational Initiatives, 2024, the Ministry of Federal Education and GIK Institute have formalized an agreement to launch a new IT Training Center in Islamabad. This collaboration, outlined in the MOU, involves the Ministry of Federal Education, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, and GIK Institute—a premier Science and Technology university in the nation.
During the event, Mr. Mohiuddin Wani, federal Secretary of Education, emphasized the strategic importance of this agreement, highlighting its potential to foster a robust partnership between the Ministry and GIK Institute. The aim is to deliver training in contemporary IT disciplines, thus bolstering employment prospects for educated youth nationwide.
In attendance was Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President of BoG, GIKI, who underscored the Institute’s longstanding commitment to excellence in engineering education, originating from a region like Topi and serving on merit for over three decades.
Joining the ceremony at the Ministry of Education in Islamabad were Mr. Shakil Durrani, Executive Director of SOPREST, Mr. Amir Jan, Executive Director of NAVTT, Dr. Fazal Khalid, Rector, Sardar Aminullah Khan, Mr. Hassan Zaidi, Pro-Rectors of the Institute, and other Ministry officials.
Mr. Durrani highlighted GIKI’s initiation of this program as a Corporate Social Responsibility endeavor, aiming to enhance employment prospects for unemployed engineers, graduates, and Master’s degree holders. Training will be tailored to modern technological demands, aligning with local industry needs. This initiative signals the Ministry’s commitment to establishing similar centers across federal educational institutions, collaborating with leading universities.
