About SOPREST
The Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Pakistan (SOPREST) was registered in 1988 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 by the Joint Stock Companies, Islamabad. Mr. Ghulam Ishaq
Khan, former President of Pakistan, was elected its first life-time President. Mr. H. U. Beg, former Federal Finance Secretary, was its first honorary Executive Director.
Funding:
Donations, contributions, subscriptions and aids and grants made by donors and benefactors, grant made by federal and provincial government or a local body. Aid, grant or other form of assistance by any foreign government, institutions, society or organization or by any international agency for the furtherance of the objects of society and receipt of fees, remuneration or charges for any services rendered by the society or institutions.
